Title: New Technician Training – Functional Leak Test
This use case: A user (new technician) is trained to perform a virtual functional leak test using XR Technology.
A pressurized test is done to confirm that no leak paths exist prior to performing HT&P operations.
The requirement is to reduce training time across the onboarding of new employees and increase amount of knowledgeable resources in the field.
Our solution: Virtual simulation of oil piping which allows immersive interaction between user and assets.
Brief Note: The simulation includes each step introduced in the training manual provided by the client: Pressure is introduced between the pipe surface up to the top of the tapping adapter and held for a minimum of 15 minutes. A gas leak can be detected by a drop in the pressure or visually, using soapy water to detect air bubbles. The goal is to ensure that when the pilot/drill penetrates the pipe, all product and pressure will be contained. We focus on three objectives: Teach, Explore, and Assess.
Customer benefits: Reduced the training time and increase the number of trained technicians in the field in a short time.
